Although many have heard about us it’s surprising how little people really know about us. Solid Rock Church is here for you! We desire to help people grow closer to God, to serve our community and to strengthen families and relationships.

From small beginnings as Middletown Evangelistic Center in 1978, Solid Rock Church in Lebanon, Ohio opened it’s doors in September of 1992 under the leadership of Pastors Lawrence Sr. and Darlene Bishop.

Solid Rock Church experienced extreme growth over the next two decades and added many projects including the construction of the Darlene Bishop Home for Life in 2003, establishing an orphanage in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 2004 and the addition of a South Campus in 2007.

Solid Rock Church continues to reach out to the lost and hurting and works toward building up the Kingdom.

Jesus, God’s son, was both human and divine
Though originally good, man fell into sin – ushering evil and death into the world
Everyone can be reconciled to God through confession, faith and repentance

The mission of the Church is to seek and save all who are lost
In divine healing of the sick
That Christ will return to the earth and rapture his church

Pastors Lawrence Sr. & Darlene Bishop founded Solid Rock Church in 1978 with twelve people meeting in a fire house on the west side of Middletown.  In 1980 they purchased a building on Grand Avenue and adopted the name Middletown Evangelistic Center with the vision of being a ‘soul-saving station’ to touch the lives of people in the surrounding community. Through much growth, MEC eventually became Solid Rock Church and relocated to Lebanon, Ohio.

Pastor Lawrence went home to be with the Lord on September 30th, 2011. He left an amazing legacy that his wife Darlene has continued to carry on as Senior Pastor, as well as his son, Pastor Lawrence II. We honor the God-given vision that the founders had and continue to be blessed by their faithfulness to the call.

We are a church where everyone matters. Our common denominator is Jesus. We desire to do all we can to show His love and power. We don’t just go to church, we are the church.
